James C. Martin graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU), Baton Rouge, La. with a Bachelor of Science in zoology and then went on to earn his master's degree in physiology. Dr. Martin earned his Doctorate in Medicine from the Louisiana State University Medical School. Upon gradation, he then entered Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina where he completed his internship in general surgery and a residency in otolaryngology.

His interest in education provided him with the opportunity to teach courses in physiology at the LSU School of Nursing and course in anatomy at the Physician's Assistant Program of Duke University. Dr. Martin is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and is a member of several professional organizations.
