Dr. Charlotte Alexander is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand and upper extremity. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Subsequently, she also completed her internship in general surgery and residency in orthopaedics at UTMB. She then spent one year completing a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and has a certificate of added qualification in surgery of the hand.

Dr. Alexander is a member of The American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society, currently serving as the Vice President of the Southwest Branch. She is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Riordan Hand Society, Eggers Society, Ruth Jackson Society, Singleton Surgical Society, American College of Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha. She volunteers at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, staffing the congenital hand, brachial plexus and arthrogyposis clinics. She and her husband have been active in medical mission work in Central America since 1992. Dr. Alexander has been a member of the public education committees for both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She has also been active on the bylaws and medical executive committees at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she currently serves as chief of staff.

Dr. Alexander was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She and her husband, Richard, have four children and three grandchildren and reside in Houston, Texas.
