Newton O. Duncan, III earned his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Prior to earning his M.D., he graduated from Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. He completed his post-graduate medical education with general surgery internship at the Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco, Calif., and a residency at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Duncan continued his education with residencies in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine where he served as chief resident for the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Communicative Sciences. In addition, he earned pediatric otolaryngology fellowships at the University of Washington's Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., and at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for children in Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Duncan is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is licensed to practice in the states of Texas and Washington. His hospital appointments include the Texas Children's Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, Columbia Women's Hospital and Doctors' Surgical Center. Dr. Duncan also serves as a Baylor College of Medicine Clinical Assistant Professor with the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology and Pediatrics.

In addition, he also had a distinguished career with the United States Army where he earned an Army Commendation Medal and a Meritorious Service Medal. His other awards throughout his career include being honored by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and being recognized as one of "America's Top Doctors" each year since 2000, as well as one of the "Best Doctors in America" annually since 1996.

Dr. Duncan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Peidatrics. He is also a member of the Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children, the American Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
